Welcome Letter

Dear Gan Parents,

We are thrilled that you have chosen Gan Yeladeem Learning Center, The David H. Meyer Children’s Center, for your child. Our center is a lively, fun and safe place for children to grow and learn. Our fully integrated developmentally appropriate Jewish curriculum encourages children to grow and explore at their own pace.

With the support of our caring, creative and experienced staff, the children at the Gan develop fine and gross motor skills, language skills, listening skills and much, much more.

Here at the Gan, we strive to provide the highest quality child care, preschool experience for young children. While doing so, we provide the children with the tools they will need as they grow into menschen – that is sensitive, thinking and compassionate adults.

You may find it interesting to know that the Hebrew words for parent (Horeh, Horah) and teacher (Moreh, Morah) share the same root letters as the word Torah.

The common root means “guidance and instruction”. The staff at the Gan take this responsibility very seriously. Maintaining an open dialogue with you, the parent, is a large part of this process. Please feel free to speak with your child’s teacher or with the Director of Early Childhood Education at any time regarding your child.

We all are acutely aware how very important the early childhood years are and we treasure the opportunity to share them with you and your child.

Welcome to the Gan Yeladeem family.

B’Shalom

Karen B. Goldstein, Director of Early Childhood Education
